Cubers Converge on VES for a World Cube Association Competition
Before the start of break, more than 50 competitors flocked to campus for a World Cube Association Rubik’s Cube competition. The “speed-solvers” ranged in age from middle school to college and traveled from as far away as New Jersey to take part in the event. The event offered several cubing options outside of the traditional 3x3 cube, including the Skewb—the specialty of VES’ resident cuber William Hu ‘20, who holds the 11th fastest average in the world with a time of 2.53 seconds. William not only competed throughout the day but also was an integral leader in bringing the internationally recognized event to VES. Congratulations to William and all the cuber participants.
