Upper School Mathematics Teacher

VES seeks to fill a full-time position for the 2018-19 school year. We are looking to add a member to our team who brings:

  • Strength and experience in teaching high school mathematics, with the ability to teach from Algebra 1 through Calculus
  • A commitment to and experience with student-centered educational practices and a variety of teaching methods
  • The desire to enjoy, engage and inspire adolescents to strive toward their best in the classroom and community, as their teacher, advisor, coach and dorm parent

Upper School Science Teacher

Virginia Episcopal School seeks to fill a full-time position in the sciences for the 2018-19 academic year. A Bachelor’s degree in Biology or Chemistry is required. The successful candidate will have:

Upper School Computer Science Teacher

Virginia Episcopal School seeks to fill a full-time position in the Computer Science Department for the 2018-19 academic year. A Bachelor's degree is required. The successful candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated strength in Computer Science courses Teaching experience in Computer Science
  • Knowledge of social media, computer hardware, programming language (python, C++, Java)

Upper School English Teacher

Virginia Episcopal School seeks to fill a full-time position in the English Department for the 2018-2019 academic year. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English or a related field is required. The successful candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated aptitude and expertise in coursework, teaching experience and/or research in English (or a related subject
  • Interest in and experience with student-centered educational practices and a desire to incorporate a variety of teaching methods in instruction
  • A willingness to partake in a variety of school needs, including coaching or leading clubs and activities
  • The ability to enjoy, engage and inspire adolescents to strive toward their best in the classroom and community, as their teacher, advisor, coach and dorm parent
  • Experience in boarding school is preferred but not necessary

Head Baseball Coach

The Head Baseball Coach will be responsible for supporting the school’s mission through the baseball program. The individual will work closely with the Athletic Director in developing the vision for the baseball program and successfully executing the role. The individual may take on responsibilities outside of coaching including teaching, advising, supporting the Admissions program, and dorm/weekend duty as part of a weekend team. This position may start as early as February 19, 2018 (coaching only) to lead a winter training season with athletes.

Head Football Coach

The Head Football Coach at VES is responsible for supporting the school’s mission in the football program and directing the transition to an eight-player format in 2018. The individual will work closely with the Athletic Director on supporting the needs of this program. In addition, the individual may take on responsibilities outside of coaching including teaching, advising, supporting the Admissions program, and dorm duty/weekend duty as part of a weekend team.
