About Athletics at VES

With 26 teams, the VES athletic program offers students a chance to play the sport of their choice. Our coaches are highly trained, committed to their players and most of them are classroom teachers as well. Each one shares a love of working with students, a passion for coaching and a dedication to developing leadership skills and nurturing every player’s talent.

Athletic Conferences

Virginia Episcopal School is an accredited member of the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association.

The boys' athletic teams compete in the Virginia Independent Conference, with the exception of the Varsity Football team, which competes in the Old Dominion Football Conference.

As members of the Blue Ridge Conference, our female athletic teams compete with a number of other independent schools within the state with an end-of-season tournament.

Athletes at VES have the distinct privilege of competing in highly competitive conferences that allow for high-caliber play, as well as the opportunity to progress into state-level tournaments.

Breadth of Our Athletic Programs

Our female student-athletes have a wide variety of athletic teams to chose from, including field hockey, tennis, volleyball, basketball, mountain biking, swimming, soccer, golf, table tennis and lacrosse.

Male student-athletes also have many athletic teams to participate on including football, soccer, mountain biking, golf, table tennis, basketball, wrestling, swimming, baseball and lacrosse.
