Virginia Episcopal School

VES is a co-ed college preparatory school for boarding and day students in grades 9 – 12. In our intentionally small, diverse and engaging community—260 young men and women and 40 faculty—we guide students to strive Toward Full Stature in their academic, ethical, spiritual and personal growth.

Opening Well 2020

We know that understanding our plans for Fall 2020 is top of mind for everyone. This page is designed to keep you current with our plans.

Below are important updates based on the best information available to us at this time.

Please keep in mind that guidelines from medical and public health officials and Virginia and local authorities will shape our approach to the Fall 2020 semester and beyond as they evolve. We are seeing progress, as last week, Virginia moved into Phase 2 of reopening, and in an early review of the guidelines for reopening schools in Virginia, we feel confident that VES will meet all requirements.

Opening Campus in the Fall

We announced in our communication on May 14 that VES is putting plans in place to welcome our students to campus on Monday, September 7.

VES believes that in-person teaching and learning, engagement in co-curricular activities, a fulfilling residential life, and meaningful, personal interactions among faculty and students create a transformational educational experience in which students can grow toward full stature.

Even though we will be living into a “new normal” this fall, we are committed to delivering these hallmarks of a VES education. And while we cannot eliminate all risks, we are working diligently to mitigate threats in every reasonable way possible.
