Weekly Sports Round Up
Baseball had a heartbreaking 4-3 loss at Carlisle but beat Hargrave 4-3, then went on to beat Fishburne 9-2 this weekend. For the first time in 35 years, and for only the 9th time in 106 years, the VES baseball team has posted a double-digit number (10) in the "Win" column. The team is ranked #8 in the MaxPreps VISAA D-2 State Baseball Poll.
Golf lost to Eastern Mennonite High School but finished second in the VIC golf championship tournament. The team was initially tied for first place so when they added in the fifth player's score, they only lost by two strokes!
Boys Varsity Lacrosse lost to North Cross 10-6 in the semifinals of the VIC tournament.
Girls Varsity Soccer lost to Covenant 5-3 and New Covenant 5-1 in the quarterfinals of the BRC tournament.
Tennis lost to Miller 5-4 in the quarterfinals of the VIC tournament.
