Weekly Athletics Report: January 31 - February 6

Even with several days off for winter break, we have had a number of athletic competitions taking place over the last week. Go Bishops! 

Sports Scores for the Week of January 31 - February 6: 

  • Girls Varsity Basketball beat Miller 76-44
  • Wrestling competed against Grace Christian and Bath County Public School. VES lost to Grace Christian 24-48 and lost to Bath County 3-63.
  • Boys Deacon Basketball lost to Blue Ridge 43-46
  • Boys Varsity Basketball competed against Blue Ridge
  • Wrestling competed in BRAC Cross Regional at Covenant. 

    VES lost to Blue Ridge 18-48. VES lost to Fishburne 12-66, but got great wins from Channing Jackson '27 and Christian Anderson '24. VES lost to Covenant 24-36.

  • Boys Varsity Basketball beat Steward 55-51
  • Swimming competed at VISAA Division II Invitational where boys finished 6 out of 20, and girls finished 11 out of 18.
    • The Girls 200 Medley Relay placed 9th
    • Frances Fenton ’25 placed 2nd in Girls 100BR and 100FR
    • Thomas Fenton ’24 placed 2nd in Boys 100BR
    • Davis Hottle ’25 placed 1st in Boys 100BK, a new team record, and he placed 3rd in 200FR
    • Luke Hottle ’27 placed 2nd in Boys 200IM, a new team record
  • Boys JV Basketball lost to New Covenant 31-43
  • Boys Varsity Basketball competed against New Covenant
