Virginia Episcopal School

VES is a co-ed college preparatory school for boarding and day students in grades 9 – 12. In our intentionally small, diverse and engaging community—260 young men and women and 40 faculty—we guide students to strive Toward Full Stature in their academic, ethical, spiritual and personal growth.

VES Joins Celebration of Episcopal Schools

As a proud member of National Association of Episcopal Schools, VES joins with the almost 1,200 other Episcopal schools across the nation in the annual Celebration of Episcopal Schools. This celebration recognizes the distinct virtues and values made by our Episcopal educational institutions. During VES’ Celebration Chapel sermon, Chaplain highlighted the Episcopal Church’s character as a “big tent,” providing a home for a wide diversity of views while maintaining our oneness in Christ. Coming together in chapel each week is a symbol of our interconnection, a place to build character and compassion we need to live together united. Chaplain White drew a parallel with the words of Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew, asserting that an Episcopal education forms students to be like “the wise scribe who brings from their inner treasure wisdom both old and new.”
