Congratulations to senior Alison Guo and junior Maggie Zhang on receiving multiple Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Founded in 1923, the awards are the nation's longest-running, most prestigious educational initiative supporting student achievement in the visual and literary arts. Students’ entries are blindly adjudicated by some of the foremost leaders in the visual and literary arts, creating an impressive legacy for the program of being the first to acknowledge creative talent.
Alison won a Gold Key, two Silver Keys and an Honorable Mention. The Gold Key is the highest level and automatically moves her “Impression” photograph on to the national level of this competition.
Maggie won a Silver Key for her piece "Discord" (pictured) along with two Honorable Mentions for "Metamorphosis" and Exodus." Maggie created the first two pieces in her AP Studio Art intensive last year. "Exodus" is a new work Maggie is creating for her Advanced Studies program.
