Legal Studies Class Goes to (Mock) Trial
Alex Rivenburgh's Legal Studies class dove into their first mock trial of the year. A young, aspiring model had their face burned by a cell phone catching fire. Who was at fault? Who should be held liable for the injuries of the plaintiff? The students argued these questions on behalf of the model, the electronics store, and the cell phone manufacturer. Before a panel of faculty judges, they questioned witnesses and argued their cases of negligence or strict product liability. In both cases, the defendant was not found to be liable for any injuries. The students did a great job both as witnesses and as counselors. |
