While our VES students are completing the fall term at home and prepping for exams, our young faculty children are completing their semester in the unique on-campus One Room Schoolhouse—launched this year at VES to support our faculty and offer a safe alternative during Covid times. Seven bright, imaginative and always curious children meet in person daily with elementary school teacher Mrs. Ali Cox for direct instruction at their grade level. The days are busy—both instructive and fun—with 1^st graders learning how to read, our 2^nd grader working on regrouping, and 4^th graders perfecting their sentence diagramming, plus whole-group learning opportunities from creating art, to reading aloud to one another, to identifying trees on campus.
