VES is proud to recognize Daniel O’Brien, a senior from Lynchburg, Virginia, who will be moving forward with his running career at Princeton University. Daniel leaves VES as the most successful track athlete in school history. In his four years at VES, he has earned 14 individual state championships in cross country, indoor track and outdoor track. He has been named Runner of the Year four times at the state level and three times at the conference level. He earned the title of Virginia Gatorade Runner of the Year in cross country twice during his time at VES. He currently holds seven VES track and cross country records. Congratulations, Daniel! You will represent VES and the Bishop family well in your new endeavors.
