VES is a co-ed college preparatory school for boarding and day students in grades 9 – 12. In our intentionally small, diverse and engaging community—260 young men and women and 40 faculty—we guide students to strive Toward Full Stature in their academic, ethical, spiritual and personal growth.
During a recent Thursday Student Life Seminar, prior to break, representatives from local agencies, ministries, and charitable organization presented to students about opportunities for community service and volunteerism in the Lynchburg area. Presentations explored ways students could practically contribute in regard to issues such as education, tutoring, mentoring, affordable housing, food insecurity, and the alleviation of poverty. The Jubilee Family Development Center, Lynchburg Habitat for Humanity, Lynchburg Daily Bread, the Society of Saint Andrew, the Rivermont Area Emergency Food Pantry, and Park View Community Mission were represented.
