AP Environmental Science Goes Out into the Field

Students in Chris Bright’s AP Environmental Science classroom yet again stepped out of the classroom and into the field to do data collection. Students were studying human demography by observing the gravestones at VES’ cemetery. From this they will be able to create survivorship curves and death rates, important information as scientists look for historical trends in demography. This allows students to understand both the scientific aspects, as well as allowing them to delve deeper into the rich history at VES. Archivist, Sara Campbell, accompanied the class to answer questions about who these individuals were and learn about their important history.
