VES Africa Trip 2019

Our VES team of students, parents and faculty spent the final week of theIr service and cultural exploration trip to Uganda and Kenya working with the Elewana Education Project, a partnership that keeps the school connected with alumna Haynes Hicks ‘08, who has lived and taught in Kenya through this program. The VES students engaged in service projects, including painting water wells, while building connections with Kenyan students through educational study and fun activities like sharing dance moves from each other’s countries. The VES travelers also spent a day whitewater rafting on the Nile River before heading to Kenya for a safari tour in the Maasai Mara National Reserve.
