"Second Star on the Right and Straight on 'Till Morning"

“Second star to the right and straight on ‘til morning!” VES celebrated Book Week with the free-spirited boy who never wanted to grow up in J.M. Barrie’s iconic Peter Pan. Students, faculty, administrators and campus residents enjoyed a wide range of Book Night activities—a community-wide book swap, delicious snacks like pixie dust popcorn and acorn buttons, an archery competition with thimble necklaces as the prize, a competition for the title of Worst Poet—Max Wiebolt ’21 won the coveted Iron Raven award for his poem “Cargo Pants”—and spontaneous musical performances. It was a beautiful reminder of what a little imagination can do.
