College Application Boot Camp for Rising High School Seniors

2019 Dates (tentative): Monday - Friday: August 5 - August 9
9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Hight Library on the VES Campus
Today, more than 750 colleges/universities accept the Common Application®, frequently referred to as the "Common App®." As you likely know, the college application process is time-consuming, and it’s often difficult to find focused time to work on it once school is back in session.
In this workshop, our highly sought-out college counseling team of Mimi Csatlos, Amy Koudelka and Elizabeth Blaum will help guide rising seniors through the process. Students will complete all parts of the Common App, including the generic information required by all schools.

Eliminate the stress and anxiety and complete the Common App before you go back to school!

Middle and high school students interested in the arts are invited to attend the Virginia Summer Arts Collaborative—a summer training program in the arts at Virginia Episcopal School. During a two-week session, students immerse themselves in a talented, creative environment where they will:

  • Gain high-level instruction from a distinguished faculty of performing artists and musicians from around the country
  • Focus on the process of creating their art, benefiting from mindfulness, reflection and self-awareness
  • Collaborate with other student artists, enjoying shared experiences and learning from each other
  • Network with professionals and gain insights into careers in the arts
  • Perform their work for the community
  • Leave with a polished portfolio of work

Summer Sports Camps

Two Sessions

9 a.m. - 3 p.m. daily | Cost is $199/week

The VES Sports Camp provides basic instruction, supervised recreation, and fellowship in sports and games for boys and girls ages 7-13. In all that we do, the emphasis is always on the development of positive, healthy sportsmanship and competitiveness in a fun and spirited fashion.

Campers are grouped by age (7-8, 9-10, 11-13) to ensure the best experience for participation and learning. Campers receive daily instruction in the fundamentals of basketball, soccer, lacrosse and track. In addition, there is time each day for instruction in tennis for interested campers. Intra-camp competition within these sports, as well as various contests and sports related games, are part of each week’s activities.

Students who want to deepen their passion and understanding in the arts may hone their talents overseas in Spoleto, Italy, where they can participate in the Spoleto Study Abroad Program—a three-week intensive program offering classes in visual art, photography, vocal music, drama, instrumental music and filmmaking. VES students have this extraordinary opportunity to participate in this program, as VES is one of only 12 select schools in the U.S. that make up the Spoleto consortium.
