Spring Family Weekend

Welcome to Spring Family Weekend!

We look forward to having our parents, grandparents and siblings join us Friday—Sunday, April 5-7 for Spring Family Weekend!
This special weekend will give you the opportunity to spend quality time with your students on and off campus, as well as interact with faculty and staff and socialize with other parents and grandparents from the VES community!
For our returning parents, you will notice we have reworked the agenda to allow for a more convenient start to the weekend. Parent/ Teacher/ Advisor Conferences will begin on Friday at 2:30 p.m. followed by afternoon athletic contests and a fun cocktail hour hosted by the Parents Council, then enjoy the evening with your child.
Saturday morning offers additional slots for conferences as well as a special opportunity to serve the Lynchburg Community at “Food for Thought,” a local backpack program that provides weekend meals to food-insecure area students! At 11 a.m., join Parents & Grandparents in the King Center for an Academic and Performing Arts Showcase, followed by a picnic lunch, afternoon athletic contests and additional conference slots. That evening get a taste of a true VES weekend experience with games, an open mic event, s'mores and more hosted by our Student Activities Team!
On Sunday we will gather for a “Pancake Chapel” hosted by the Vestry & DIG, followed by brunch in Harrison Dining Room and the “10th Annual Cupcakes for a Cure” fundraiser on the front lawn benefiting the Alan B. Pearson Regional Cancer Center.

Parent/Teacher & Parent/Advisor Conferences

Parents, you are invited to meet with your student’s classroom teachers and advisor.

Is my student expected to participate in these conversations?
Student attendance is optional. We’ll let you decide if the conversation would be most valuable with or without your student’s input during the conference.

What should I expect from my conferences?
Spring faculty and advisor conferences are a great way to hear a recap of your student’s progress over the year. It’s also an ideal time to understand the classes and plans your student and his/her advisor have established for the coming year.

How do I select my conference times?
Once you register for Spring Family Weekend, log in to, go to your Resource Board and click on the button labeled "Schedule Parent/Teacher Conferences" to select your times.
Conference Dates and Times
Conferences are 10 minutes long with a 5-minute transition time between each conference. Available times are:
  • Friday, April 5 | 2:30 - 5:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, April 6 | 8 - 11 a.m. and 2:30 - 4:30 p.m.

  • You can decide when you want the reminder email confirming your list of appointment times to be delivered to you and then click "Create Appointment."
