Virginia Episcopal School

VES is a co-ed college preparatory school for boarding and day students in grades 9 – 12. In our intentionally small, diverse and engaging community—260 young men and women and 40 faculty—we guide students to strive Toward Full Stature in their academic, ethical, spiritual and personal growth.

Life at VES

Come to VES for a transformative life experience! Learning to live successfully within a community is one of the most important skills you can gain—equally important to knowledge gained in the classroom.

In everything we do at VES, our goal is to help shape students who are joyful, healthy young adults striving toward their highest level of personal achievement.

We live by a shared set of values—humility, honor and integrity, engagement and excellence—and all of our students actively participate in the life of the school.

Here, you will build friendships that last a lifetime, try new things, expand your mind, grow in your independence, learn empathy and resilience, and discover who you are and who you want to become. And we make time to have lots of fun on the journey.

Before school begins each morning, during breaks, in chapel, assemblies and Fine Arts Fridays, through our Student Life program, over meals in the dining hall, and into afternoon and evening activities, and on dorm, students and faculty learn, connect and grow together in a safe, supportive environment.

Below are several VES programs that all students engage in and benefit from.
