VES Student Literary Blog

Welcome to the Spring 2021 VES Literary Magazine! I am so excited to show you all of the amazing things my fellow classmates have created and so graciously given us permission to share with each and every one of you. As you may have seen, this semester’s theme is PerspectiVES. This title spoke to me because we are bringing the views of our amazing student body. This magazine embraces differences between each student and strives to spotlight everyone's individual talents which is one of my favorite things VES does.

I am Katherine White, the editor-in-chief for this semester. This is my final semester at VES and I will be attending Virginia Tech in the fall. I am an actor, published poet, gluten-free food critic, and a lover of all things creative. When not at VES, I am in my hometown of South Boston, Virginia enjoying a latte at a small cafe or out at the barn spending time with the horses. I am looking forward to spending this spring bringing this magazine to you and then passing it on to the next generation of VES students.

Again, I truly hope you enjoy every word of writing, stroke of artwork, and inch of photography on the blog this semester!

 With loads of gratitude,

Katherine White '21
Editor in Chief

PerspectiVES

The VES literary magazine is a student-run blog to highlight the talent of all creative individuals in the Virginia Episcopal School community.

Under the mentorship of Brian Campbell, Chair of the English department, members of the club will serve as magazine editors: reading, editing, organizing and publishing student-created literature and artwork for the public to read and enjoy. Each semester the editor-in-chief will pick a theme and propose it to the school for themed submissions; however, submissions of any kind are always welcomed and encouraged.
