Baseball - Junior Varsity

We believe baseball involves a great deal more than preparation for a game or a season. We believe the game of baseball is preparation for life. Education is the primary reason we are here, and the game of baseball teaches us to develop a high level of character, discipline, perseverance and responsibility that will serve our players well now and throughout their lives. There are no shortcuts; success on the baseball field and success in life require desire, hard work and self-sacrifice.

At VES, every baseball player must be willing to do all that is required for the success of the team, and never waiver from adherence to fair play, respect for coaches, umpires and fans, dedication to their teammates and exemplary representation of their school and community. We take great pride in our performance. Winning is a high priority, but even in defeat, VES baseball respects their opponents and the game.

VES baseball players begin preparing for a strong spring season with strength training and conditioning during the winter semester. Our coaches develop relationships with each player and help them establish and reach their goals. Each practice focuses on skill development and game strategy. Members of the baseball program find their VES baseball experiences rewarding and some have pursued play at the college level.

Our home is Buck Langhorne Field at Meador Park on the VES campus and we proudly represent VES in the Virginia Independent Conference (VIC)—arguably the most competitive conference in the state.
