VES Summer Sports Camp

Two Sessions

9 a.m. - 3 p.m. daily | Cost is $200/week

For more than 50 years, VES has offered its highly regarded summer sports camp to youth in the Lynchburg area. The VES Sports Camp is a co-ed, multi-sport camp that provides basic instruction, supervised recreation, and fellowship in sports and games for boys and girls ages 7-13. In all that we do, the emphasis is always on the development of positive, healthy sportsmanship and competitiveness in a fun and spirited fashion.

Campers are grouped by age (7-8, 9-10, 11-13) to ensure the best experience for participation and learning. Campers receive daily instruction in the fundamentals of basketball, soccer, lacrosse and track. In addition, there is time each day for instruction in tennis for interested campers. Intra-camp competition within these sports, as well as various contests and sports related games, are part of each week’s activities.

The camp is led by VES Athletic Director Bob Leake with coaches who bring years of experience working with adolescents. Campers love the support and attention they get from both adult coaches and student counselors who play varsity athletics, all of whom enjoy making sports both instructive and fun.
