Mountain Biking

Our coed mountain biking team rides in the fall semester and focuses on developing proper technique, honing their cycling skills, encouraging overall fitness, ensuring safety and having fun. Whether you are a novice or highly advanced, there is a place for you on the team.

We ride both on our 5 miles of campus single-track and rolling trails and in the surrounding area, including the Blackwater Creek and HumanKind trails, providing convenient access to riding for afternoon sports or on weekends. Our students have helped design and build our on-campus trail system—another way to get outside, take ownership in their work and learn new skills.

The team competes with other schools in several local and regional competitions throughout the season, including Virginia Cyclocross races. Virginia Off Road Series' Throwdown-N-Techtown, the Hill City Hootenanny, and Conquer the Hill at Miller School.
