Justine Button

Director of Admissions and Financial Aid
Head Girls Lacrosse Coach

Justine joined the VES Admissions Office in the fall of 2011 after spending four years at the Fountain Valley School of Colorado as assistant director of admission. She is a graduate of Portsmouth Abbey in Portsmouth, R.I., and a 2003 graduate of The College of Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass., where she enjoyed a successful career on the women's lacrosse and ice hockey teams. Prior to working at Fountain Valley, Justine taught and coached at Wyoming Seminary in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., and spent two seasons as the head women's lacrosse coach at King's College in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

Mary Stuart Battle

Director of International Admissions

Mary Stuart joined the Virginia Episcopal School Admissions Office in the fall of 2012. Previously at VES, she has served as a science teacher, dorm parent and advisor. Mary Stuart also taught science and served in the Admissions Office at The Collegiate School in Richmond, Va., and worked in marketing and development at The Triad School in Winston-Salem, NC. She holds both a B.A. and an M.Ed. from the University of Virginia. Mary Stuart lives on campus with her husband, Tommy, and her youngest child, Grace. Her two older children are VES graduates and currently attend university. In her spare time, Mary Stuart enjoys playing tennis, cooking and spending time with friends and family. Sara Ingraham

Admissions Counselor
Assistant Coach, Junior Varsity Girls Tennis Team

Sara joined the VES Admissions Office in June of 2017 after graduating from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she earned her B.A. in political science. As the Vice President of Special Events on the Panhellenic Executive Council at UNC-Chapel Hill, Sara dedicated her time to raising awareness and money for the UNC Center of Excellence for Eating Disorders. Sara grew up all over the country as a daughter of a United States Marine, but considers Eastern North Carolina her home. Sara is also the assistant coach to the junior varsity girls tennis team at VES, and serves as a Wyatt dorm parent. She can be reached at 434.385.3604 or

Danny Aiken

Head Coach, Football & Admissions Counselor

Daniel (Danny) Aiken grew up in Roanoke, Virginia, where he attended Cave Spring High School and played football, baseball and basketball. After graduation in 2006, he continued to pursue football at Fork Union Military Academy and was awarded a scholarship to the University of Virginia. Danny started for the Virginia Cavaliers all four years, earning an invitation to the NFL Combine and the Senior Bowl. He signed a four-year contract with the New England Patriots, where he participated in two Super Bowls, including the championship win in 2014. In 2015 he signed with the New York Giants, where injuries led him to retire. He is currently working toward an MBA. Danny’s wife, Kelly, also a UVA grad, is an artist and owner of Copeley Designs. The family moved to Lynchburg with their two-year-old daughter. Danny is excited to get back on the field with our VES student-athletes. He also will serve as a member of the campus duty team. Ian Morris

Admissions Counselor

Ian Morris graduated in 2018 from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Penn., where he earned a B.A. in English and was on the men’s basketball team all four years. Born and raised in New York City, he spent his last two years of high school at The Gunnery School in Washington, Conn. At VES, Ian lives on campus, serving as a dorm parent on Pendleton and as a member of the campus duty team. He also will serve as an assistant JV boys basketball coach. Ian can be reached at

Margaret Lyle Jones '95

Director of Special Events

Margaret Lyle joined the VES Advancement Office in the fall of 2005. Previously, she served for six years as the director of Rockbrook Camp for Girls in Brevard, N.C. In her current role, she is responsible for leading VES' visibility and engagement through events with alumni and prospective students and families across the United States. After graduating from VES, Margaret Lyle attended Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C., where she received her B.A. in Spanish and government. She lives on campus and serves as an advisor. Stacey Glass

Sienna Brown

Admissions Coordinator and VES Receptionist

Sienna Brown joined VES in July. She grew up outside of Washington, DC, and moved to Lynchburg to attend Randolph College, where she earned her B.A. in Psychology and Global Studies. Following graduation, Sienna worked as an admission counselor for her alma mater and now brings her skill set to support VES students, parents and prospective families.
