Applicants choosing not to submit standardized test scores should provide an additional teacher recommendation from a current teacher (science, history, or world language).
Students who choose to submit standardized testing should submit score reports that correspond to the chart below. VES’s school code for the
Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) is 7972. Please be sure to request that any score reports be sent directly to VES or email official score reports to
admission@ves.org.
See optional testing for the grade you are applying for:
Grade 9: SSAT
Grade 10: SSAT or PSAT
Grade 11: PSAT or SAT or ACT
Required English Proficiency Testing
For all applicants for whom English is not their primary language, we require that you submit a
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score as a part of your application for admission. The VES school code for TOEFL is 8110.
Vericant Interview Requirement - Chinese Applicants Only
All Chinese applicants must complete a
Vericant interview prior to moving forward with the application process at VES. Vericant interviews should be submitted by January 15 in order to be considered. Based on our Admission Team's evaluation, we will invite select candidates to move forward with applying and scheduling an interview with a member of our team. Applications submitted prior to completing the Vericant interview requirement will not be considered. If an applicant has questions about this requirement they may contact our office directly.
Note to Applicants
Please complete the Student Essays and the Student Short Answers sections in your own voice. Authenticity is far more important than perfection. Remember to proofread your work before you submit it.
Note to Parents/ Guardians
Please allow your student to complete their portion of the application independently. The Parent Statement and Parent Insights & Student Support sections will give you the opportunity to tell us more about your student. Students seeking support from our Learning Resources team must have an educational evaluation that has been completed in the past three years. For more information,
visit our website here.
