It is important how a school uses technology. At VES we use technology in the classroom to teach students, but we also believe it's important for our community to stay connected -- to people on campus, to friends, and to family at home. Technology is an everyday part of life at VES. Our teachers use it to teach, our students use it to learn and conduct research, and our campus community uses it to stay current on school happenings and world news. State-of-the-art technology and campus-wide wireless are essential to the way our community works. VES hosts a sophisticated telephone system that provides individual telephone numbers and voicemail to every student, faculty, and staff member on campus. Day students may also access their voicemail on campus and from home. We've also wired each dorm room on campus with two individual high-speed Internet connections. Students can research class projects on the Internet, send email, access school calendars, and utilize other network resources, all from their personal computers in their rooms. We use these computer and telephone connections to stay in touch and informed. In other words, we stay connected. All the time. |
