At VES, there's a lot to do, and only so many students to get it done. Which is why we need you -- to sing in the Glee Club, play a sport, participate in student government, lead service projects, plan student activities, or any other number of things. It's up to you to take your pick. On an average weekend, you might choose from any of the following activities: a trip to the nearby Wintergreen Ski Resort, a faculty-student soccer game, ping pong and pool tournaments in the lounge, an excursion to see opera in Greensboro, a field trip to a UVA football game, a mall run, movie night in Wyatt lounge, or just some down time outside the dining hall after dinner. Who has time to be bored? It's not just the activities that make VES a fun place to be, however. It's the people -- your fellow students, your teachers and their families, and the administration. Since 70% of teachers live on campus, you'll get to know them. You'll share meals in the dining hall with them...you may even be asked to baby sit! And you'll learn what it's like to live with other young men and women your age, students who genuinely like and respect each other. The friendships you form will last a lifetime. |
