Honor Code "Each individual has his and her own honor system and in that sense the Honor Code is a very personal, intimate thing. We were instilled from an early age with the knowledge of what is right and wrong, and we were taught not to lie, cheat, or steal, and not to tolerate it from our peers. Our honor is important in how we view ourselves and in how others view us. "The Honor Code at VES is an important part of our lives and it stays with us long after we graduate. We follow it not because it's a rule or because there are consequences; we follow it because it is the VES tradition, and because it is right. We all live in a school that is built on trust and honor and we will soon enter college and university communities that are built on trust and honor; therefore, it is imperative that we all take the responsibility of upholding our personal honor codes and the VES Honor Code."
Every VES student agrees to live by the Honor Code (PDF: 76K) in their everyday life. We believe that having a code of honor is essential to the educational, spiritual, and moral development of our students. It guides us. |
