Foreign languages

If you would like to spend Spring Break in Costa Rica or France, or the summer in Spain, it's time to beef up on your foreign language skills. VES is just the place to learn a language -- with course offerings in Latin, Spanish, and French that cover beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels of language comprehension. Are you looking ahead to college? VES offers Advanced Placement Courses in all three languages. Learn a language and get college credit at the same time.

It's our goal to instill in each student a love of language and foreign culture. We call it learning by example -- our teachers are enthusiastic and passionate about the language and culture they teach, and they demand hard work from their students. Under their teachers' guidance, students learn about the basic structure and vocabulary of language, and acquaint themselves with the culture, history, and customs of the country they are studying. They are encouraged to enrich their experience by studying abroad or spending a holiday in the country they have studied.

All VES students are required to complete two credits in a foreign language.
